Leadership

The Miami Workers Center believes in developing the leader in all of us. In particular we focus on developing not just individual leaders, but community leadership within low-income African American and Latino communities. We also work to ensure that women are in the lead.

The leadership of our organization is made of three different bodies.

Grassroots Council

We have Grassroots Council steering committees. This is where day-to-day decisions about the grassroots councils are made.

Staff

We have staff. Unlike other organizations, each member of our staff is a leader and holds a role of leadership within the organization. Staff is responsible for executing programmatic plans and financial priorities set by the board, and supporting member leaders in day-to-day functioning of grassroots council.

The Board

We have the Board, which is the top level of leadership and makes a final call on all of our programmatic plans and financial priorities. Our board is composed of over 51% of members of Miami Workers Center.
